Project Description

The project activity is a bagasse-fired cogeneration facility of a sugar mill, where the surplus electricity generated is exported to the grid. The project supplies up to 11 MW of green electricity to the regional grid. Bagasse being a carbon-neutral fuel replaces fossil fuel-powered electricity in the grid, increasing the share of renewable energy in country's energy mix. CoUs shall only be claimed for the quantity of electricity exported to the grid. The project addresses SDGs 7,8,9 12 and 13.
